HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT PHOTO

If you are not sure if your photo is suitable for the project, just contact us before placing your order. It is the best practice! We always offer advice and reliable assessment.
Based on our experience in this type of orders we’ve prepared some comments and helpful tips to help you choose the right photos.

SIZE DOES MATTER!
Photo size guide

If you want to order an image which you want to print in a size, for example 24 ‘x 36’, then you need a file about 3600px – 5100px (px = pixels). Do not send a photo that is a thumbnail and has a size of 100px x 120px because it will not work! There are no miracles even in the digital world. Everything has its limits. If you are not sure if your photos are suitable for the project you are thinking about, please contact us before you purchase our service.

THE REAL SIZE MATTER!
An example of photo pixelation

It is true that we wrote above that size matters. But it won’t work if you have a small picture and you just “stretch” it to be large. This is not how it works! Such artificial enlargement ends with pixelization and instead of a face you have a set of pixels (colored squares).

DO NOT CUT OUT
An example of a poor quality photo

If you cut a face out of a group photo or photo taken from a distance, which itself is large, the close-up of face will not necessarily be large enough and probably it will be of poor quality.

SCREENSHOTS
Choosing between screenshots and gallery

Most of us keep our pictures on the phone. If you send a photo stored in the phone gallery, send the photo from the place where it was saved. Don’t take a screenshot! Screenshot is not the picture itself and its real size is reduced. You can see how it works in the attached example:
CAMERA   9,4MP  23004 x 4096  3,1MB
vs
SCREENSHOT   1,1MP  720 x 1520  1,2MB

HEAD POSITION
Front view and side view

FRONT VIEW
-view of the front of the person
PROFILE
-view from the side

If the position of the body and head in the picture are in a front view, do not send photos in profile. And the opposite situation: if the position of the body and head in the picture are in the profile, do not send photos with a front view.

Difference between suitable and unsuitable photos
